摘要：《诗经》和《楚辞》是我国诗歌中现实主义和浪漫主义两个流派的源头。作为楚辞的创作者,屈原及其作品在中国文化史上具有不可替代的地位。向世界传扬中国文化,目的就是将中国传统文化推向世界,让世人了解中国文化之博大精深,并以中寻找智慧和灵感。《楚辞》作为中国文化这片汪洋大海的“源头”之一,它的译介工作,对于将中国传统文化推向世界具有极其重要的作用。国内许多著名学者都曾翻译过《楚辞》,如林文庆、杨宪益夫妇、孙大雨、许渊冲等,而许多对中国古典文学感兴趣的西方学者也尝试翻译《楚辞》,如派克(E.H.Parker)、韦理(Arthur Waley)、沃森(Burton Watson)、霍克斯(Did Hawkes)等。由于译者在文化意识、翻译目的、审美倾向等方面的差别性,各种译文精彩纷呈,各具特点。对具有典型作用的译本进行比较性探讨可以为中国的典籍英译提供一些有益的借鉴,将有助于《楚辞》乃至中国传统文化的传播。许渊冲和伯顿·沃森分别是当代中西方译介《楚辞》的典型,其译本凸显的不同翻译策略和对策代表了《楚辞》英译的两种不同倾向,他们的译文理应成为此类探讨的首选。本论文以主要以译者主体性这一角度对两种译本进行比较探讨,浅析两种译本的翻译对策和翻译风格,并在此基础上指出两种译本的误译之处。作者指出典籍翻译是一项复杂的工程,它需要有对原文及其文化内涵的深刻的理解和把握,还需要有对目的语深厚的造诣。在翻译对策上,直译与意译、异化与归化需要有机的统一,要站在目标读者的文化背景下进行优化翻译,让译文既传递了中国的文化信息,又吸引了读者的目光。只有这样,才能让读者真正了解中华文化的精髓,最终以达到文化交流的目的。关键词：伯顿·沃森论文许渊冲论文《楚辞》英译论文比较探讨论文
